this is great nicole!
i love how you highlighted the 8 on the gaffer tape and the colors are perfect for the photo and feel of the layout.
and as for the journaling….it’s so heartfelt!
i understand…i have an 8 year old…the boy variety…. he’s changing so much too…lots of independence and battles of wills these days….

hang in there and yup, you’ve got it right…at the end of the day…it’s the love that matters :)
