The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson was very good as was the follow up, The Girl Who Played with Fire. There is a third in the series, but I have not read that as of yet. Mandie suggested I read Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. That book had me guessing throughout and I never guessed right. It plays with your mind. If you like the HBO (?) series, Dexter, you might like the book series. They are different enough from the series that you won't feel you are just repeating what you saw. Did you read the Twilight series? If so and liked them, you might like the Sookie Stackhouse series. They are light, entertaining reads. I believe there are eight in the series. Have you heard of Goodreads.com? If not, you might want to check it out. It's pretty cool. Kind of like Facebook for readers. If you join, you are welcome to add me as a friend and go through my book lists. There are quite a few people from SC that are also on Goodreads. Yikes...could I make a longer posting?
I read Water for Elephants and loved it. I am currently reading the "Potato" book and so far so good.

Donna, I read The Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes and loved it! Thanks for the book suggestions, ladies! Steph, I guess I never noticed the book club board-I will have to join up with you ladies at some point. Right now I have just begun reading Sarah's Key. - :) Jenn |

Ooo Jenn - let us know if you like Sarah's Key...my BFF gave it to me for my bday and I've yet to read it! I just bought "A Reliable Wife" on the recommendation of a bookstore employee ...it looks good! I also have Chris Bohajlian's "Skeletons at the Feast" (he wrote Midwives which was also good.) Just starting the SC bookclub book now - so far, so good! - -Karen (Hudson River Valley,NY) |

I've been looking at Loving Frank, Nicole. I also have a copy of Death in a Prairie House in my pile of "to-read" books. You HAVE TO check out Gate at the Stairs by Laurie Moore. It's totally brilliant. I just started Cleaving by Julie Powell. I'm having a hard time getting into it. She isn't feeling as likeable in this one as in Julie and Julia. - Cook. Eat. Repeat? (A year-long cooking adventure.) Babs's Babble. (Private blog. PM for access.) |

). the story is sad, but it's a great read.
I am really trying to read more often in the evenings, so I have a wish list of books to read. I was just wondering if anyone can recommend some good books I can add to my list? By the way, I LOVED the workout muisic suggestions!
Here are some good ones I have read recently:
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
