Sorry....picking your "work" brains.....not your scrapping brain.

My skin is a nightmare at the moment...a lot of congested pores, and spots. Its never the best, but currently seems much worse. The only thing I can think of is a few occasions where I have exfoliated and cleansed, and then got inthe shower, rather than showering first and then facial care.

Do you have any tips?

ThankyouSmile

hey kathy!!

it shouldn't matter that you washed your face first... then got in the shower. the steam will open your pores though... do you have an alcohol-free toner you can put on when you get out?

my favorite product for clogged pores is from esthederm... do you have a spa near you that carries it? they are an international company??

it's called "osmoclean, gentle deep pore cleanser" it works to vaccuum out the oil... kwim?

over-exfoliation can lead to problems...

if you're having problems with your skin right now... less is more!
i'd use a gentle/sensitive skin cleanser and a gentle moisturizer. then slowly add more... like that deep pore cleanser.

happy to help out!!!

I am butting in here..but just want to say thanks for all your helpful advise.  As someone who has suffered for years with cystic acne, slimmy skin and just generally poor skin I always appreciate expert advice!!

Joanne is awesome.  Look at her skin in her photo and that is how you know you can trust everything she says.  Well, plus the fact that she is the nicest person you could meet.  :o)

If anyone knows where to buy on-line that would be great. It seems very hard to track down in the UK?

there is an esthederm place in london, it appears. it says distributor and treatment center. maybe they can send you things, or... refer you to a place that carries it closer to where you live. (i don't know if you are near london!) that osmoclean gentle pore cleanser is amazing, amazing! for clogged pores.

and here's aveda's UK site. if you click on shopnow... then skin care in the top line... you will
see more options. outer peace is the acne treatment.... but it can't be mixed with certain things... i am not allowed to sell it if people are using other, harsh exfoliants!!

ETA: the esthederm london link above is wonky.. it'll still take you to the country selection site... but... england/great britain is in french... "grande bretagne" and it's in the "U" section of the alphabet... by "etats unis" which is also in the "U" section! love the translation!!! :)

I've tracked down an on-line site in France  ( The uK site no longer stocks the product).

The french site is

http://www.institutsaara.fr/

They have 35% off until 27 July, so I've ordered ( I hope!! ). You could choose to see the site in English as opposed to french, but when it came to the payment part it went back to french...and my french is rather rusty to say the least. I think it told me there was a 7 day delay!!

Totally jacking here, but I just wanted to say how  sad I am that my trip to your neck of the woods, resulted in not a second of time to come visit you at the spaCry

But, while I was home I did tell my family to go check it out! You'll probably meet my mom before you meet me, lol!
