I am seriously considering switching to 8.5x11. At least for awhile.
I was a Creative Memories scrapbooker in the beginning...over 10yrs ago.
My style has changed, but my size hasn't.
I really feel pulled to scrap in a smaller size.
Did you start 12x12?
What made you switch?
Which do you prefer???
TFS!!!

Ami, i say go for it!!
i do both...and house them in the same AC Modern album. it's fun to go back and forth when you get in a rut!
Nicole =)Seriously...Brains.
Like Nicole, I too use AC Modern Albums and have sleeves for 8.5x11, 12x12, 8x8, 6x6 - I love using all sizes, I try not to get bogged down with just one size, to keep it more interesting -

I started as strictly an 8.5x11 scrapper. 12x12 intimidated me. Lately I'm doing more 12x12, but scrap all sizes as the mood strikes me and house in my AC modern albums as well. -

i scrap both sizes, but admit to doing mostly 12x12 lately. I love the look of an 8.5x11 that is in "landscape" view (horizontal)-

I mainly create cards (instant gratification!), but I do more 6 x 12 layouts than any other size. I have a couple of EK Success Maple Lane 6 x 12 albums that I keep them in. I've found that the smaller layouts work well for me since I usually scrap single photos.-

I have always scrapped 12x12 until recently, and now I'm finding that I do mostly 8 1/2 x 11. I say do both! i still buy 12x12 albums and just stitch and trim my page protectors to the right size for my smaller layouts. It has really helped recharge the creativity.

I'm an equal opportunity scrapper also. I scrap all sizes. I started 12x12, then fell out of the love with the symmetry of the square. I found the rectangle of the 8.5x11 more visually pleasing. But now, it's more about how many photos I have. One or two photos - smller size. more than three, I *might* go 12x12 . Then there's the occasional 8c8 or 6x6.-Scraps-R-Fun: The Blog
i do a lot of landscape 8.5x11
my first 2 albums, which i actually worked on at the same time, were 12x12 and 8x8.
i don't think i have done a 12x12 since January, but then again, my scrapping has been sporadic at best.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I will have to check out the AC albums. I still only have CM albums, but haven't put a layout in an album in over a year.
I like the idea of different sizes in one album.
I do 12x12 for me, and 8x8 for clients... but I'm thinking of oing some smaller sizes for me too :)
I started out at 8.5 x 11 years ago then switched to 12 x 12 in 2000. Now I do mostly 12x12, but throw in 8.5 x 11 just to mix it up a bit! -

I started out 12x12 when I didn't know there was any option. I switched to 8.5x11 a few years ago, and that's when I really started pumping out the pages - that size just 'worked' for me. I sometimes have 12x12 envy when I see other people's pages, but now I have 8.5x11 albums... I recently did my first 6x12 page too, and loved it.
In summary... I love 8.5x11... Give it a shot... what's the worst that can happen? You hate it, you go back. Good luck :)

i started 8.5x11 and scrapped almost exclusively in that size for 2 years...lately, i've become almost exclusively 12x12. i'm not really sure how it happened, i just found myself doing a lot more 12x12, and then i realized that i couldn't remember the last time i did an 8.5x11. i just really like the extra space, i guess!-

I'm another equal opportunity scrapper, I scrap 12x12 , 8.5x11 and 6x12. I enjoy mixing it up depending on how many photos I am scrapping etc. And like Nicole said it helps when you're in a rut! Changing the size somehow helps mojo to flow :)-

Mostly I scrap 12x12. However I have really been enjoying 8.5x11 and 6x12. AC modern albums are my friend too.-

I tend to do 12 x 12 for our reg albums, but for the ones that have a start and finish (vacation, christmas, family events), if i don't do a mini, i scrap whatever...tend to be 8 1/2 x 11...also doing books for the girls grade school which are landscape 81/2 x 11

just try it for fun! don't stress, you might be surprised at how much you like the other size. i used to be totally 12x12, but recently i've really loved my smaller 8.5x11 layouts. they work well for me, i never would have guessed it.

I love a lot of "white space" on my layouts, so I avoided 8.5x11 for the longest time. It took a little getting used to, but now I love the flexability it gives me! Go for it!
I also started 12x12 & felt overwhelmed with the space sometimes. I tried 8.5x11 about a year ago & really liked it. I put both sizes in my AC mod albums too. A quick fix if you're undecided is to complete the LO 8.5x11 & them temporarily mat it to 12x12 cardstock; see if you like it better.-Carrie
I usually scrap 12x12, however, I am loving smaller size pages... so I guess my usual isn't my usual any more ;-)

I say go for it, too...and you really don't have to commit to one size or another. Just do what works for your photos/supplies/mood :) :)-- Amy Harle - proud scrapsupply hoardin' momma' to Olivia (6) and Ava (3)
I like to keep it on the small size-6x6 and smaller stuff. I like the look of 11 x 8 1/2.

I usually scrap 12 x 12 but occasionally I switch it up and do 81/2 by 11...or a mini album. -
