• This is a rescued layout. I hated the patterned paper, paint, and mist background I had created. Rather than toss the base of the layout in the trash and start again, I covered my background with wide masking tape. Then I used paint and ink to add some color. Voila! Brand new base to the layout. An added (and unexpected benefit) is that it flattened out the layout which had warped from all the paint and mist.
• I stitched a collection of stickers and paper strips down to create a fun streamer like feeling - perfect for this New Year’s layout.
• I used the color red as a tool to bring the viewer’s eye all around the layout. I especially like the red numbers counting down to midnight.
Feels like New Year, definitely! Love the background and the numbers is a great idea!
