    Thanks, all  :)  Ursula - I used the alpha border stamp (it was just pink-slipped and is now sold out http://www.studiocalico.com/store/stamps/fencealpha-border) with a rectangle mask.  I just positioned the stamp so that the letters I wanted would line up and then colored them in with a Sharpie.  Hope this helps.
