Me and My Man Child
i made this page for Stephanie's weekly challenge - clean & simple and for the LOAW #2 - monochromatic and for the Blow Out Your Stash challenge #2 (killed 3 birds with one stone ;)
lots of stamping and sewing on this LO. the scalloped borders are made with a bird cage stamp. but i only used the top of it. i saw someone else do this with a hot air balloon stamp in a stamping magazine.( when i find the magazine again, i'll come back and give proper credit)
ok, i tracked down the magazine: it is the latest issue of Stamp it and it was Julie Campbell's technique using a bird cage also to make her card on page 66. thanks julie for the awesome idea!!!
i love this photo of jake (my son) and me. it was taken 2 weeks ago. jake is in a 15 month program for troubled teens called Teen Challenge in Branson Missouri. he has been there since last july and is doing absolutely awesome!!!
his freshman year he became extremely rebellious and would not obey ANY rules. (many more details but it doesn't matter any more). after MUCH prayer and seeking we made the heart wrenching decision to send him to Teen Challenge. After just one week he was a changed person. he said that the peer pressure was just too hard to break away from" when you are right in the middle of it" and he thanked us for sending him there.
my boy is becoming even more amazing than he was before he started rebelling. he is growing and maturing in the LORD and his dad and i could not be more proud of him.
we only get to see him every 2 months so we cherish our time with him!!
i think this photo captures the sparkle in my son's personality and that is why i love it so much!
tfl!!!
