This month, get to know Anastasiya Rasulova (GOODTHINGS88). Anastasiya is a jewelry designer by day, scrapper by night. Read below to be inspired by her array of creative work!

Hello hello! Anastasia here form the beautiful city of Boston, where I moved about 6 years ago to live with my handsome husband. I'm a mom of an active three-year old, coffee drinker and a huge nature lover. I love to cook, travel and to document our everyday adventures. I'm a creative person form the bottom of my heart. I'm talking forgetting to eat lunch and cutting off sleep, until I'm satisfied with what I started. (Sorry kid for the obsessed mama! ha-ha) I have a big passion for basically all visual and applied arts, such as drawing, photography, graphic design and, of course, crafts! By day I design a nature-inspired jewelry brand called Eight Acorns - that's partly my job and a first creative outlet. By night I'm an avid scrapper and an overall crafter. Yep, I love making things!

Member Since:

I became a member around 2014 and subscribed to the Documenter kit. I was in desperate need to simplify things with scrapbooking, as having only a few minutes of free time with the little one on hands, and creating full layouts was too time and space consuming for me. I felt "Project life" type of scrapping was more suitable and still gave me the satisfaction from creating something by hands. And boy, I loved the whole experience so much! Getting a kit at the door is like a Christmas every month. My passion for this hobby is only growing with every year, and even though all 58374652 albums now take up entire shelf space, I don't think I'll ever quit.

Why Studio Calico?

I will emphasize the active and, oh so creative community here. I'm constantly in awe of what people come up with. Ah-maaazing, truly inspiring talents! It also totally made up for the lack of other creative friends in my life, so to me it's like a dream space bursting with inspiration and like-minded people. I'm really glad to be here. And did I mention the beautiful tastefully designed products? Love love love!

Must-Have Product:

That's almost an impossible task, but I have to say looking at my desk, that I'm a big patterned paper fan. There's always an impressive selection of designs here and the quality never disappoints. I don't think I can go without sticking some cute paper scrap on my layout. Plus you can use them for so much more than just scrapbooking. Make your own embellishments, cards, tags, flowers, banners, all kind of DIY projects, you name it.

Get your pattern paper here!

Not to brag but…

I have to say I'm mostly proud of those that I came up with by myself, meaning without having any particular idea in mind. I love looking through the gallery and see what other people are doing, but I also try to step away from this and push myself to create something original. For example I really love the "Earth-Fire-Sky" layout about my daughter. That phrase describes her so well that I let it be the central visual theme. I also loved hand cutting the letters and sewing them onto the water-colored background. Lots of love and thoughts were put into it and these kind of creative challenges satisfy me the most.

Project Bucket List:

- I simply have too many places on my list! However from the top, I would be really happy to go on the photo tour through Iceland/Greenland and shoot these breathtaking landscapes. Some other places are the national parks like Yellowstone, Yosemite and Grand Canyon. All the plane/pass tickets to the previous mentioned places will be definitely included!

- Perhaps a few mini individual albums from every country/city. Oh no. More. Shelves. Needed.

- If I could, I'd go back in time and meet all my ancestors from both my mother's and father's line. To me it would be really fascinating to find out where the genes come from that make me who I am today. I can imagine having a long conversation with them about their lives, taking a photo and an autograph. That would make an incredible experience and even more incredible family tree album.

Stay Tuned:

We just came back from a lovely trip to Germany where we visited our family, so that story/album is already stewing in my head!
