Sunday Sketch | Lisa Spangler

This week our scrapbook sketch is a 12" x 12" layout featuring heavy journaling with highlighted titles above a grid design of photos. Our card sketch has a central focal point above a title and simple embellishment. And our pocket page sketch features a 3" x 4" title card with embellishment and a 4" x 6" photo card featuring two images with a centered title. Creative Team member Lisa Spangler is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's card sketch! Hi there and happy Sunday! Hope you're having a great day! For my sketch, I decided to use Kelly's scrapbook sketch to make a card. I had to modify it a bit so that it would work with the smaller format, but I just love how it turned out—and I would never have thought of using this layout on my own. That's the beauty of sketches!

Instead of photos, I did some stamping with a resist technique. I first stamped those leaves from the Sloth set by Life.Love.Paper with VersaMagic ink on white cardstock and heat embossed them with clear powder (if you don't have VersaMagic ink, white pigment ink will also do the trick!). Then I sponged on ColorTheory Inks right over top of the stamping. The embossing resists the ink and the leaves just pop! I used a mix of dye and pigment inks for this, just going by what colors I had on hand. The rest of the card is pretty straightforward—can't wait to mail off this happy hello!
