Sunday Sketch | Marie Lottermoser

This week our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 11" layout featuring a vertical photo slightly offset from the center of the page with embellishment clusters in the top left and lower right corners and a large title over the top. Our notebook sketch has a title over layered circles on the left page and three small photos stacked vertically with journaling on the right page. And our pocket page sketch features a 4" x 6" card with a square photo paired with a vertical title and a 4" x 6" photo with a tag housing journaling on top. Creative Team member Marie Lottermoser is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's notebook sketch! Be sure to follow Marie to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Catherine Davis's Hello You layout:

Our notebook sketch comes from Catherine Davis's Now Watching spread:

And our pocket page sketch comes from Carson Riutta's February Flowers spread:

And here's Marie's take on our notebook sketch:

Hi, everyone! It’s Marie, and I'm working on a new page for my Traveler’s Notebook. I live just outside of Seattle, but I don’t get downtown very often. Every time I do visit, it seems like so much has changed. There is always new construction happening, including on the Space Needle right now. The "Be Happy" Documenter Kit was perfect for documenting my visit downtown, especially with all the rain elements. Nothing says rain more than Seattle! This week’s TN sketch was inspired by the very creative, Catherine Davis, and was the perfect way to get started on my spread.

The rain stencil that came with the Documenter Kit made a perfect backdrop for my photos. I placed it directly on the page in my Traveler’s Notebook. I used the black paint to give my page a little extra contrast. These stencils are so much fun and can be used over and over. I added a strip of three photos on top of my stencil design and was really happy with how it came out.

On the left page, I wanted to add some circular elements similar to what was in the sketch. First I stamped “good times” on a piece of white cardstock and punched it out with a circle punch. I also fell in love with the cloud design on one of the journaling cards, but I didn’t have room to put the entire card on my page. So, once again, I used a circle punch and placed the cloud design on my page. Following a sketch was an easy way to complete my page. I hope you give it a try!

I can’t wait to see how you use this week's sketches! Thanks for stopping by today. :)

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. This was such a great notebook sketch! So many possibilities. I used state stamps for each of the main elements: https://studiocalico.com/galleries/211692-these-4-states
