Design Tips | Letters Home

Starting with a blank page can be an intimidating way to begin a project. The following design tips are perfect for pairing with this month's "Letters Home" Kit, or just tuck them into your back pocket for a time when your creative mojo is low. Either way, we hope they’ll help inspire your next project!

Stack It Up

On her notebook spread, RedoKelly stacked several of phrase stamps from the Reality Check stamp set as the base for the design around her photos. We love pops of color they add in contrast to her black and white photos.

Lisa let the stacked label page in her Letters Home TN lead the way for the design of her spread, Fall Notebook - Gray, Navy + Dots. She maintained the separation of each label, filling them with embellishments, sentiment, and journaling.

White Space

France's simple and stunning spread, Hello Fall, features a design with lots of breathing room around her photos. This technique lets the custom paper in her notebook shine.

On her spread, Hello FallMarcy featured a gorgeous photo with negative space. It creates a bold impact on her page!

On an Angle

We can't get enough of Lisa's angled photo on her spread, Early Morning. She let the paper design from her Letters Home notebook guide her photo placement and the result is stunning!

Flip It

A vertical title is always a great way to spice up a layout. Kelly stamped her title along the edge of her page on her spread, Friends, for a unique and fun look.

Sarah flipped a large photo horizontally for her project, Home TN Layout, and we love the result! Her stamped border and embellishment cluster offer the perfect finishing touch.

Boxed Title

On her spread, Niagara FallsMaggie stamped the letters of her title in a stacked design for a fun effect. It's a great focal point for her spread.

Sarah stamped out the word "September" for a unique card for her Septemeber Documenter Spread using the Lucy alpha. This technique adds a fun touch to any project!

So much inspiration in this post! The "stack it up" pages are the reason I bought the add-on stamp set. Love it!
