#NSDSC15 | Challenge 04 - Mix Those Kits with Lisa Truesdell, Keisha Campbell, and April Foster

We're challenging you to try to find a bunch of combinations for mixing products from your kits! Scrapbook paper in a pocket, Card stamps on a journal card, anything you can dream up!

Lisa Truesdell and April Foster: (Lisa) I was at the Studio Calico offices this week, so April and I decided to tackle our NSD challenge pages together. And just to throw in a fun twist, we turned it into a race. (April won. Hmph. Even though she was holding a baby while finishing her layout!)

Both of us opted to mix from kits that were already out on our desks - I had transferred everything from my desk at home to a box before heading out to Bowling Green. We both used products from the last few months of kits and dipped into each other's goodies to finish up our layouts. I couldn't help but use the stamp set from Paige Evans' Make It Big class. It's so much fun to work with!

Mixing kits is a great way to squeeze another layout or two out of your leftovers - and it's a great way to try new color schemes too!

Supplies: Studio Calico kits – Lisse Street Scrapbook, Carolina Moon Scrapbook, Ivy Tower Add-on, Magic Carpet Add-on; Ink - Color Theory Inky Black; Tiny Attacher; Precision Pen 03

Keisha Campbell: I used a few of SC card kits & stamps to make PL cards. I love mixing the stamps from various kit to make my cards-that floral stamp from the Lisse Street kit is so gorgeous( I was happy to have a chance to use it again). The Signed Sealed Delivered stamp set from this month's add-on card kit was a big favorite of mine and I had to use it. I am so excited at how these turned out-simple fresh clean designs!

Supplies: Carolina Moon Card kit, Carolina Moon Project Life kit, Signed Sealed Delivered Stamp set, Color Theory Labels Bundle

We can't wait to see your take on this challenge! To be entered to win a prize from the Calico Closet, please post your project in the Studio Calico Gallery by May 10th and add the tag #NSDSC4 in the description. Challenges may be combined - just add both tags in your description. Winners will be posted on Monday, May 11th.

The baloons, that elephant and the moon! Why oh why don't I have those kits?? I would of course also need a baby, but I've borrowed one for a mini album before, so I'm sure I could find one to scraploft this LO as well! (I gave the mini to the parents after making the album, the mom was a customer at my LSS, so it isn't as creepy as it sounds)

This is such a hard challenge when most of your kits are killed. Ended up mixing some really old kits and I think it works but at least it's done.

Done and downloaded. I don't have any kits, but I have wood veneers (2 varieties), 2 sets of stamps, chalkboard die cuts, and some hexagon accent stickers. I made journaling cards like your contributed. It is posted under projects.

Here is a quick card - with scraps from a number of kits and my stash, plus a piece I had cut from an "old" cut file and an old printable label.

@mollymoo951 I'll definitely be sharing more pages, but starting a new job this week is kicking my butt a bit. I'll be playing catch up on the weekend and will post in the gallery. Thanks!

My teenage daughter doesn't like to have her picture taken. So here is one of the rare layouts of her. I used a variety of items from class print outs to SC kits and had a blast.

I have to admit though, that I take YEARS to put such a layout together. :)
