Sunday Sketch | Geralyn Sy

This week, our Scrapbook sketch features fun shapes, our Documenter sketch uses two cards and our Card sketch features a pretty sentiment. Get creative and be sure to share your projects here with us! We can't wait to see what you create! Today, Geralyn Sy shares her take on the Card sketch.

This week, our Scrapbook layout comes from Happy by Lory Bucaria:

This week, our Documenter layout comes from 6th Birthday by Natalie Elphinstone:

This week, our card comes from Wishing You Peace by Lisa Spangler:

I love the watercolor detail on the card sketch, so I used it to inspire my holiday card. I heat embossed the starburst stamps from the Tin Man embellishment kit and used watercolors to mimic the look. This was such a fun sketch to play with!

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by January 4th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the January 9th Layout of the Week post.

I used a card from the Lollipop Guild Stationery kit and just embellished it a little. That was fast! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181013-just-keep-swimming

This is the first time I have been able to play along in months. I was inspired by the Scrapbook Sketch to float circles and stars across the page. I converted to 12x12.

Here's my take on the card sketch. I used watercolors for the first time, and decided to use the stationery card pattern and watercolor within the lines instead of making my own design...not quite brave enough for that yet. ;) Had fun blending the colors to get what I wanted, but definitely need to invest in better brushes!! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181244-watercolor-rose-thank-you
