Sunday Sketch | Lisa Truesdell

This week, our Scrapbook sketch features pretty cut-file hearts, our Documenter sketch uses a unique 4" x 6" card and our Card sketch features a pretty patterned paper. Get creative and be sure to share your projects here with us! We can't wait to see what you create! Today, Lisa Truesdell shares her take on the Documenter sketch.

This week, our Scrapbook layout comes from Happy by Kelly Noel:

This week, our Documenter layout comes from Here's the Plan by Ginny Hughes:

This week, our card comes from Congrats on Your Plus One by Lilin Fang:

Sometimes when I'm working with a sketch, I like to carry over just one or two elements rather than using it to drive the design of an entire layout. I loved the angled and segmented card on Ginny's Documenter layout, and decided to use it as a starting point for a block of patterned paper on my page. I copied her card fairly closely, and then tucked a stamped tag into the design. Since I was working with photos of my youngest out in the snow, I opted to bring in a lot of bright and fun colors from recent kits to liven up the page.

Supplies : kits - Lollipop Guild, Arendal and Savannah Scrapbook kits, Lyngor add-on, Nes Verk add-on; ink - Color Theory Clean Slate & Sunny Day; other - veneer star, vellum, tag, Tiny Attacher, sequins

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by February 22nd in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the February 27th Layout of the Week post.

Love what you did with the angled card Lisa. It really makes the content stand out I used the same sketch on the 2nd page of my documenter spread.

Can't believe I beat the 2-3 scrappers who post here early on Sunday. (you know who you are!)

That angle card from the documenter sketch was the starting point for this graduation card.
