LOTW | angelgrl11979

Our Layout of the Week comes from Mindi (angelgrl11979). Her pretty spread captured the attention of the Studio Calico community! To keep up with her, be sure to follow her here in the Member Gallery.

When I first start putting a weekly pocket page spread together I always start with printing a few photos. This gets me thinking about a color scheme. I decided to start out with the card with the multicolored leaves/stems patterned on it as a color scheme since it seemed to have coordinating colors with my photos. I complimented my pictures of my daughter picking weeds from our backyard. From there I picked out other cards and embellishments to finish out my spread. Sometimes I forget that I cut journaling cards up and use them in different ways. I loved the deets card from the Film Club Documenter kit but it was too much color for me, I love a lot of white space. I simply cut it up and added it to some white cardstock. I used a lot of digital stamps as well as a few label stamps to help tell my story. The Documenter kits are always so well put together that it makes it so easy to put my pocket pages together. The colors coordinate together and I love all the embellishments I get each month.
