I don't know if you can read the journaling, and I didn't take a close
up, but it's about my son falling in love with a duck that came to
visit our library (a live duck during a farm demonstration). He was
heartbroken - completely crushed - when it was time for the duck to go
home, and I was so heartbroken for him that we walked down town and
bought him a (stuffed) duck of his own. He named him "Wally" after the
farm lady's duck and they became fast friends - still are to this day!
This was an important moment for me because it was such a real and deep
emotional attachment for some reason it really touched me, and because
I did one thing I always swore I would never ever do as a parent - buy
my way out of it! LOL!
