Tutorial: Watercolor Spring Card by Lisa Spangler

Hi hi! Are you all ready for SPRING? It already feels like spring here in Texas -- don't shoot me, but we were up to 86 on Monday! Whoa! Anyhow, I had spring on my mind when I made this card for the Savannah gallery.

I had a bunch of requests for a tutorial on how I made the background -- so here you go! It's pretty easy once ya know the secrets, and it's so relaxing too. I could just do this all day! In fact, if ever I'm in a creative slump then this technique really helps to get me going again.

What's in a name? A trip to Savannah.

Hi! I'm Rachel — the product coordinator for Studio Calico. I help plan all of the kits you receive each month. With this, I also help brainstorm their names! My mom’s birthday is in late May so my two sisters and I thought it would be fun to take a girl trip to Savannah. This was a perfect reason to spend time with my family but I also had the excuse to do two things I also love, planning trips and eating! When I came home I was so inspired (and full!) by the city I knew it would be a great name choice for our February kits and I hope you think so too!

Tutorial: Using the Hello Forever Planner for Memory-Keeping with Lisa Truesdell

Hello everyone! After a lot of thought and indecision, I recently settled on a method for my 2016 memory keeping. As my kids get older, I find myself struggling to fill a pocket album, but still wanted (and needed!) a place to collect the keepsakes, kid quotes and everyday memories that don't warrant an entire scrapbook layout. I recently picked up a Hello Forever planner, and rather than using it to plan out my weeks, I'll be using it to document them.

    Workspace Wednesday: Mel Blackburn

Hello SC friends, I’m so very excited to be here today to share with you my very first blog post!! What a thrill it is for me to be part of this wonderful community!

Today I’m sharing a peek into my creative space. I do not have a dedicated room, but I have taken over a small corner of the master bedroom. Since I have a small space a couple of things are crucial, lots of baskets for organization, keeping things tidy, pretty accents and no clutter. This space might be tiny but it makes me happy!
