Sunday Sketch | Anna Maria

This week, our layout sketch is a two page 8.5x11 layout with a simple design to let your photos really shine. Our card sketch features strips of patterned paper and a banner sentiment, and our Project Life sketch uses two circular photos. Creative Team member, Anna Maria Wolniak, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our layout sketch. Be sure to follow Anna Maria here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 8.5x11 two page layout sketch comes from Emma Wood's Go Zack layout:

Our card sketch comes from Dana Fleckenstein's So Happy For You card:

And our Project Life sketch comes from Stephanie Baxter's April 14-20 spread:

Here's Anna Maria's take on our layout sketch:

This week's sketches are truly full of inspiration! They are so clean & simple what - in my opinion - give us a whole range of possibilities to interpreate and let us choose the best things for us to compose our own project. I chose a double page layout sketch based on our July Guest Designer - Emma's project. I was so inspired by the woodgrain surface she used on her page and simple division. My idea was to recycle glasine bag (once again, and again...) and compose an interesting font design using a phrase which is coming from one of the AshleyG's journal card. I used a wood veneer lemon to replace an 'O' letter and I painted it using Mr. Huey's watercolour set. Of course since I get the 'Spun Sugar' embellish add-on with amazing 'world map' stamp, I can't imagine to make a project without it - so I use it once again on this sketch inspired layout. Hope you enjoy it and wish you try your own version at home!

Supplies: Kits - Penny Arcade Scrapbook Kit, Fortune Teller Add-on, Spun Sugar Add-on, Skeeball Add-on, Mr. Huey's Watercolour Set, Precision Pen 03, Color Theory Woodshop sequins, Wanderlust Lowercase Alpha Sticker Booklet, LemonLush Wood Veneer Shapes

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by July 21st in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the August 2nd Layout of the Week post.

I used a KI border strip to mimic the layered look on the edge: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/131230-anniversary-card-with-stars
