Our Layout of the Week comes from our member Kathryn (username ATXmom). Her pretty layout captured the attention of the Studio Calico community with elements from the Stamp Set: Merry and Bright by In a Creative Bubble. I often get ideas by playing with my supplies, and when I saw the adorable penguin in the Merry and Bright stamp set by In a Creative Bubble, I began to stamp, watercolor, and emboss in my art journal. The scene that emerged reminded me of the painted mugs in these photos I took of my son a couple years ago while on a snowboarding trip in Colorado. I used a sketch from the Simple Scrapper membership to design the layout, and printed the photos with an Instax Share to add a fun feeling. The journaling expresses how despite that my son is growing and changing, some constants remain. Thank you, Studio Calico members, for selecting my project as the Layout of the Week!
