Sunday Sketch | Marie Lottermoser

This week our scrapbook sketch is an 8.5" x 11" layout featuring a pyramid design with repetitive stamping, embellishments, photos, and journaling consistently getting wider as it goes further down the page. Our card sketch has a layered embellishment on the upper left side, offset by a simple title in the bottom right corner. And our pocket page sketch features a 3" x 4" embellished title card and a 3" x 4" journaling card, anchored by a strip of paper at the bottom. Creative Team member Marie Lottermoser is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's documenter sketch! Be sure to follow Marie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Nancy Damiano's Dreaming Hawaii layout:

Our card sketch comes from Kim Oedekoven's Mom's Card card:

And our pocket page sketch comes from Kelly Noel's Everyday Routine:

And here's Marie's take on our documenter sketch:

Hi, Everyone! This week I chose Kelly’s pocket page spread as a jumping off point for my own page about window shopping while visiting a small town. It’s one of our favorite hobbies!

The first thing I noticed about Kelly’s project was the lower left pocket where she mixed horizontal stripes with a vertical word strip. I loved her clean graphic style while mixing the direction of the embellishments. I picked a striped card from the Been and Gone Documenter Kit and then paired it with a vertical embellishment I made with letter stickers and a label from the ticket book.

I decided to combine vertical and horizontal once again by taking the stamp set that came with the Been and Gone Documenter Kit and mixing and matching the patterns on a card for my center pocket. Patterned stamps are a favorite of mine, and it was a fun to add some interest to my page having the stripes go in different directions. I can’t wait to see what everyone creates with these sketches!

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by July 3rd in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the July 8th Layout of the Week post.

I used the SB layout as my inspiration for this layout using the ticket stamp set for the first time. Instead of photos I used tickets on the bottom.

I literally lifted the Documenter sketch for a 6x12 insert into my Myrtle Beach 2016 album.
