Our Layout of the Week, July Traveler's Notebook, comes from our member Melissa (username mamaorrelli). We love Melissa's subtle use of color and clean design! To keep up with Melissa and see more of her work, be sure to follow her here at SC.

Here's what Melissa has to say about her project:

It can be tricky sometimes to add multiple photos to a Traveler's Notebook spread because of the size. I find photo collages—in this case, a photo strip—to be very helpful in this situation. I drew a border with a fine tip black pen, freehand, around the photo strip. It sort of grounds the photo without adding extra layers of paper to a Traveler's Notebook. I kept the embellishments minimal and flat. I really love how the frame added just a bit of color to the right side of the spread and emphasizes the photo of all three of my kids. The left side of the spread is also very minimal. My journaling was typed up on a separate sheet of printer paper on my computer and adhered into my notebook. I added a few embellishments to coordinate with the right side. My finishing touch was to take as many stamps that seemed appropriate for this layout and just stamp away. Happy crafting, friends.
