December's featured teachers

Documenter Kit Workshop - Aly Dosdall

Aly believes that life is worth celebrating and documenting—and using the art of paper crafts to do that is her passion. She loves being a wife and mom to her five kiddos. Running, music, and Netflix help her find balance in her life. She works as the Social Media Marketing Manager for We R Memory Keepers, teaches paper craft classes, and blogs about her favorite things.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

First, I love the non-traditional holiday colors in the kit. I’m so inspired by the warm fall colors snuck in there. They make me happy! I also love the acetate embellishments. They provide a unique opportunity for layering and texture without entirely covering important things up.

What she'll be teaching:

The first lesson is all about capturing holiday details. We’ll take some time to document the stories behind holiday décor and other items that have special meaning for us. In lesson two, we’ll record our favorite holiday traditions that are unique to this time of year, as well as learn some fun ways to use the digital download and the non-traditional colors from the kit. And finally, in lesson three, we’ll document the beauty of the warmth and light (literally) of the season. Get ready to use some stamps and get your hands a bit messy!

Takeaways:

This December Documenter Kit Workshop is designed to help you think outside the box when determining the what and how about recording your holiday season. So often our documenting is focused on events, which are wonderful and so important to include. This season, however, I’d love to inspire documenters to include more than the December happenings, to delve into the stories behind family traditions and holiday décor, and to record the ways you find meaning in this unique season of the year.

Aly will be joined by three talented contributors this month: Mandie PierceMichelle Wedertz, and Jen Wong. As always, each workshop comes with a free digital item. Check out this awesome printable Aly will be using in this month's workshop:

Planner Kit Workshop - Suzanna Stein

Suzanna is a paper crafter, mixed media artist, and all around crafty lady from California. When she’s not spending time with family and her two cats, she can usually be found in her crafty space playing with pretty paper and colorful paint! Between working full time, designing for three brands, owning a small business, and managing her chronic illness, planning is one of the most important parts of her days. She hopes to inspire and help others through her creative endeavors and positive outlook on life!

Favorite things about the month's kit:

My favorite things about this month’s "Northern Lights" Kit are the color palette, the fun mix of functional and decorative elements, and the roller phrase stamp! The color palette is the perfect mix of soft, bright, and deep colors. I also love that it breaks away from the traditional green and red that most products include during December. The stickers included in the kit are both functional and decorative—my favorite. I love when I can use one product to keep my days on track AND add a pop of color to my weekly spread! Lastly, I love the roller phrase stamp. Like the stickers, it includes a mix of useful planning phrases and decorative memory keeping phrases. Plus, if you’re also a documenter, it’s perfect to use in other projects outside of just planning!

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we’ll cover how to balance functional and decorative planning. Then, we’ll talk about tips for breaking down your daily or weekly spreads to fit your needs in the second lesson. In the third and final lesson, I’ll be sharing what I like to include in my monthly overview, plus how I add decorative elements to it!

Takeaways:

I hope subscribers feel confident adding decorative elements to their pages without distracting from the actual planning, realize that they can embrace the way their brain works and processes information by breaking down their spreads accordingly, and understand the difference between the weekly spread and monthly overview in their planner while adding their own style of decoration to each!

Suzanna will be joined by three talented contributors this month: Marie LottermoserLeah O'Neil, and Rianne Alonte. As always, each workshop comes with a free digital item. Check out this awesome printable Suzanna will be using in this month's workshop:

Scrapbook Kit Workshop - Diane Payne

Diane Payne is a mom to two college-age kiddos and wife to her husband of 28 years. They reside in Texas with two new fur babies and eagerly await visits from their kids during school breaks. Diane loves scrapbooking and has been at it since 1997 (that’s 20 years)! She works full-time globetrotting around the world, drinks too much coffee, and loves hanging out with friends in her spare time.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I absolutely loved the transparency alphas in the kit. I really liked layering them over papers and design elements for some really great dimension to my projects. The kraft border stickers are a fun bit of contrast against the colors of the kit and provide so many possibilities. And last but not least, the banners and roller stamp combo—you can use them together or separately for lots of possibilities.

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we’ll put together a quick layout and customize the acrylic shapes for a winter theme. The second lesson focuses on mixing patterns, colors, and alphas. In the last lesson, we’ll use the add-on alpha stamp set to create a background and title.

Takeaways:

Don’t be afraid to alter the products in your kit. Adding a little glitter or ink is not only fun but can transform the products into something completely different giving you even more versatility with your kits.

Diane will be joined by three talented contributors this month: Nathalie DeSousaLisa Andrews, and Anna-Maria Wolniak. As always, each workshop comes with a free digital item. Check out this awesome printable Diane will be using in this month's workshop:
