weekly challenge | Shanna Noel & Steph Washburn

I don't know about you, but when I get my kits in the mail each month, I can't wait to tear that box open and have a close look at all of the beautiful embellishments included! I have to admit, some of the most coveted embellishments *might* be hoarded away... not because I don't like them, but because I love them so much and don't want to use them up!

This week, we're challenging you to put those special embellishments to use- and be sure to really make them SHINE! Take one product and use it in a bold way- make it set the whole tone for your project!

From Steph:

When I saw these beautiful gold labels in the Double Scoop Project Life Kit, I may have done a little happy dance.... they satisfy my gold addiction like no other! I knew I wanted them to make a big impact, so I laid them out to create a background pattern for my card. I simply adhered the labels to a card base, added a sentiment (from the Double Scoop Card Kit) and kept it simple! Love the way the labels really shine!

(suppies- cardstock: More Solar White; labels: Double Scoop Project Life Kit; stamps: Double Scoop Card Kit; ink: Onyx Black Versafine Ink Pad)

From Shanna:

This month's Project Life kit is one of my favorite of all times ( I am pretty sure I say that every month, and every month Studio Calico does it again!). I love that little wood veneer camera in the kit and couldn't stand the idea of using it once and calling it done! So I took some white cards stock, cut it down to size and used an ombre of Mister Huey colors to create a whole stack of journal cards. Then I took a one week spread of my album and made those cards shine! I love that a lot my photos are captured on Instagram, and this was a perfect way to display that fact!

(Supplies : Cardstock- More White Cardstock; Camera Wood Veneer, Alpha Roller Stamp- Double Scoop Project Life Kit;  Ink Pad- Staz On Jet Black; Page Protectors -Project Life Pocket Pages, Mists- Mister Huey's Sugar Plum, Mary Mary, Double Yellow, Canyon, Hot Dog)

We can't wait to see which embellishment you put front and center on your project! Share your new project for this challenge in the SC gallery, then link up your project here in this post by September 9th to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop!

I love embellishments, so it was hard to pick - but these frames from The Pier are one of my all time favorites. And I got to add lots of other bits too.

I tried to use as many rhinestones as possible from the MME pack in the Story Hour kit. WAY more than I would normally use!
