weekly challenge | Lisa Truesdell

I am a self admitted embellishment junkie. Patterned paper is nice, but my kit and collection love is won or lost on embellishments. I love to mix and match different types of embellishments on my projects, and don't consider a layout or Project Life spread done until it's been embellished.

To keep my projects from becoming embellishment soup, I like to arrange them into small groupings. As I'm deciding on the best placement, I think about the idea of creating a visual triangle that draws the eye through the most important elements on your page. On the page above, you'll notice that the embellishments become the points of a triangle that takes you to each photo and then my title. I further unify the groupings by repeating materials and colors in each one.

(supply list : paper - Studio Calico grid paper, Printshop Dear John, Sunday Best and Moon & Back; stickers - Printshop Vellum Stars and Accent & Alpha stickers; thickers - Printship Doodle; badge - Printshop Mini Badges; veneer - Printship Handdrawn Stars and Tiny Hearts; stamps - Edinburgh Stamp Set and Dublin Add-on; other - Tiny Attacher)

This week, why don't you try making a visual triangle with your embellishments? We can't wait to see what you come up with! Share your new project for this challenge in the SC gallery, then link up your project here in this post by November 11th to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop!
