#SCCROP14 | Challenge #9

Tags:

For our ninth challenge, we have a card sketch for you! Sketches are such a great jumping off point. With a little imagination, you could even turn this into a layout - just fill in one of the central rectangles with a photo instead of patterned paper!

I first cut a card base from the navy blue card stock included in the main kit. I choose the yellow pattern paper for my main panel because it has a subtle pattern and would not distract from the other elements. I used the wide ribbon as a panel element as well to add some texture. I also used some of the teal ribbon from the add-on kit to add texture as well. I tucked it behind the pattern paper panel and cut the ends in a fish tale shape to mimic the zig zag pattern in the wide ribbon. The wide ribbon also creates a nice place for the sentiment to be framed. I scattered some of the faceted gems from the add-on kit around and finished it off with the star button with a little gold floss threaded through.

Emily Branch also took on this challenge - here's what she had to say : "For my challenge, I created a card based on this lovely sketch from a card created by my talented creative team buddy, Chari Moss. Sketches are wonderful because they provide enough enough information to jump start your creative mojo, while allowing your creative style to shine through!"
