Sunday Sketch I Christine

This week, Christine Cieri (SC username, Christine Cieri), is sharing her take on our layout sketch! Christine's work is playful and fun and her gallery is full of beautiful layouts. We love seeing her work in the gallery and couldn't wait to see her work with the sketches!

First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 8.5x11 layout comes from Melanie Louette's Not A Martha layout:

And our card sketch comes from Guest Designer, ChristinaC's Hi card:

Here's what Christine has to say about working with the layout sketch:

When SC asked me to take on the sketch challenge for this week I was beyond excited! When I saw the sketch it challenged me, but in a good way. There are clean lines in this sketch and I wanted to embrace that. I wanted to flip the sketch and take it on vertically and I knew that right away. I kept this layout rather simple as I wanted to follow the sketch and not be too heavy on the embellishments but still keep true to my style. I decided my title would go on a title block I created with a tag laying on the photo with the awesome transparency card from the Project Life Blue Note Kit. I wanted to keep the three block design as related to the sketch as well. I added the little stars for some subtle dimension in one of the three areas and then finishing off the other with the "you are here" card from the Double Scoop Project Life Kit. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this challenge and share my work.

Supplies: Add-On Patterned Paper - December 2013, Cuppa Project Life Kit, Blue Note Project Life Kit, Double Scoop Project Life Kit

We love Christine's great take on this layout sketch and the way she adapted it to fit her usual 12x12 canvas! Thank you for joining us this week, Christine! If you'd like to see more of Christine's work, follow her here at Studio Calico and check out her blog.

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by January 20th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop.

Great sketches, I love the different sized photograph that Christine used! I started with the first sketch and also used a different sized photo, but didn't continue with the sketch after I knew I had a lot of journaling to add. Wonderful sketches!

Here's my card based on the sketch: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/108838-on-your-big-day

And I also created a layout based on that sketch... though I converted it to a 12x12, since that's the format I use to scrapbook: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/108839-scrappy-night

@penny, I got confused as well - you have to click "Show more comments" to view the earliest ones and then you can see that you did post here :) No, you're not going crazy, as I thought I was too hehe!
