Hello, Hello Card Kit

When I saw the cork in this month’s kit, my imagination began to work overtime, and I really wanted to experiment with stamping on the cork. I honestly didn’t know how it would turn out. I thought it might bleed a bit and give a messy result…but that didn’t keep me from experimenting, and I’m so glad I did.

I used the Studio Calico Doc Brown ink to stamp the wood grain frame pattern on my die cut cork piece. The results are fabulous. There was no bleeding and the impression was crisp. {Insert happy dance here.} On another note, I did experiment with Versamark on the cork as well….it didn’t give the result I thought it would. But you may want to experiment with different inks on different mediums and see which result you like best.

I’ve included a video below, walking you through the entire creation of this card…and giving you a little insight on my thought process as I create. I’ve also included links to the products used in this project below.

You’ll notice that there was a point in the video that I wasn’t quite sure where to go. When that happens, I just go with what I know is working. Don’t let yourself get hung up on minor details. Push forward with what you do know is working. Commit to those steps. Be open to experimenting with your elements. Go with your gut. And in the end…it’ll all fall in to place.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you’ve enjoyed this project and video. I hope you’ve been inspired to go outside of your comfort zone and experiment with something different in your kit.
