One Product, Three Ways: The Underground | Catherine Davis

I wanted to highlight a few ways to use exclusive products like the black diamond grid in The Underground Scrapbook Kit. We want to give you another look at the kits as well as spark ideas for your potential projects. This grid is an embellishment that lends itself to a whole lot of creative interpretation. I’m really looking forward to seeing how everyone runs with it! Here are my ideas:

Use as a misting mask.

Here’s a great thing about the sleek plastic material, I rinsed my grid with water and the mist came right off. Ready to reuse! I let the mist spray over the grid onto my paper, but you could place scrap sheets of paper around your grid to mask off extra spray and only show the inner diamonds. A background with a grid of different mist colors would be super cool.

Cut down for smaller embellishments.

The grid material is easy to trim and the diamond design nests together well. I used my trusty Martha Stewart Glue Pen on the back of the grid to secure to my page. This grid can easily fit in a 3x4 page protector pocket as well.

Use as a design element.

I stapled the grid to use as a contrast to my photo. If you let your inner Paige Evans come out, you could cut tiny diamonds to place behind the grid.

I’ll let you in on a little extra surprise too: The back of this grid is silver metallic. Look for it when you open your box!

Thank you Catherine! These are wonderful ideas. I immediately saw this grid as a mask, but was really stuck for an idea to use it itself. Love the "inner Paige Evans" idea. I will definitely give that a try. I may even go teeny tinier and use it as Tudor style window panes with indoor Christmas scenes/themes behind it. You have sparked my brain. I do hope others chime in with their sparks. Thank you!
