Sunday Sketch | Kelly

This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 sketch with washi tape strips and tucked in photos. Our card sketch features banner strips and a circular detail and our Project Life sketch uses a 3x4 photo and a square caption. It was so tough for me to choose a sketch to work with as I really was inspired by all three sketches, but I ultimately decided to use the card sketch. I hadn't made a card in a long time and it was fun to try my hand at cardmaking again! I was inspired by Jenn's use of the half doily circle to add weight to the bottom of her card and mimicked the look here by cutting the gold vellum paper into a triangle shape. I cut two banner shapes by hand using papers from the Park Ave. scrapbook kit and used foam adhesive to attach the smaller one for dimension. I added the Hello My Dear sentiment strip, also with foam adhesive, and then stapled three die cut leaves together and tucked them underneath the sentiment strip. Finally, I used a standard hole punch to make gold confetti from some of the gold leaves in the Maggie Holmes pack and added them to the top half of the card.
