This week, our layout sketch is a 12x12 sketch with strips of patterned paper and two small photos. Our card sketch features a large banner and our Project Life sketch uses a 3x4 photo and a striped card for journaling. Creative Team member, Nicole Samuels, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our layout sketch! Be sure to follow Nicole here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 12x12 layout sketch comes from Elizabeth Kartchner's I Did, I Do, I Always Will layout:

Our card sketch comes from Deb Duty's Nuts About You card:

And our Project Life sketch comes from Elise Joy's Yes To... spread:

And here's Nicole's take on our layout sketch:

The scrapbook sketch this week is a great design for using up some patterned paper scraps! I love how the simple strips of paper and washi tape create an easy yet colorful photo mat. I kept my own design pretty close to the original sketch, adding in some hand stitching for texture and color. (The stitching templates from the Concord add on kit are awesome for adding a hand stitched title.)

Supplies: Walden Scrapbook kit, Concord Add on Kit
Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by December 1st in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the December 6th Layout of the Week post.

I love how Nicole used papers with colors taken right from the photo. Even with a lot of pattern going on it looks so balanced.
I went with the PL sketch this morning, using a zig-zag striped card.
