Tutorial | Using Stamps in Project Life with Geralyn Sy

The Be Merry stamp set from the Send Joy class is so cute! I love how a simple triangular tree stamp can be decorated so many different ways. While this stamp set was originally designed to be used for cardmaking, today I’m going to share with you a few ideas on how you can use it in to create some Project Life cards.

For my first PL card, I stamped the tree stamp with an apple green pigment ink three times on the middle of my 3x4 card. I let the trees overlap a little bit.

Using a dark green pigment ink, I stamped the little dots and line decor on the left and right trees.

For the middle tree, I wanted to do something different. I used Versafine ink to stamp the ‘falala’ stamp on the middle tree, then I sprinkled some white embossing powder on top. Since I don’t have a good white ink that will make a clear impression, embossing powder is the way to go. Other alternatives would be to use a different ink color or to try different embossing powder colors – gold would be beautiful.

After heat embossing the ‘falala’, I finished the PL card off with the little star stamp on the middle tree. This can be a simple filler card in your Project Life, or you could add some journaling below the trees.

For my second PL card, I decided to treat the triangular tree stamp as a simple triangle. Using various inks in different shades of blue, I repeatedly stamped the triangle stamp on my 3x4 card to create a pattern.

To add some interest to the card so that the pattern isn’t just solid triangles, I paired the various dots & line stamps with dark blue inks to decorate the triangles. This added touch makes the card look really festive and fun, yet by choosing a monochromatic look, the pattern isn’t too busy or overwhelming to the eye.

To finish this second card, I simply added a label and word strip from the Walden kits.

Here are my two cards together! I love that they look incredibly different from one another yet they were made with the same stamp set. It just goes to show how versatile the Be Merry stamp set is!

I put together this little page to show you the PL cards in action. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to look at these stamps in a whole new way!
