Weekly Challenge | Packaging with Jasmine
This week, our very own graphic designer Jasmine Jones (username jasminenora) is challenging you to incorporate product packaging into your next project. Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to follow Jasmine here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her!
Hi everyone! I’m excited to be hosting this week’s challenge! When documenting, I really love the idea of including product packaging or found objects from that time into my Project Life spreads. In this spread, I included the packaging from a cell phone case I bought around the same time the photos were taken. It adds another dimension to who I am, what I was doing and the way life was in that moment. My challenge for you this week is to pay attention to your purchases and include some packaging from something you bought into your layout or as an insert. It could be a clothing tag, a logo cut from a box, a coffee sleeve, or even a receipt from your purchase. I hope you get creative with it! I’m excited to see how you interpret this idea!
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Jasmine's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by January 26th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the January 31st Layout of the Week post.

Cute! I often include used up gift cards in my PL (they fit nicely in the 3x4 pockets)!!

I love using packaging! I used the packaging from a Basic Grey mini-envelope pack for my journaling, and then I added the little kraft loop that was holding the hemp twine that I used to cover the BG packaging info: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/151451-happily-ever-after

Such a fun challenge! I'm always keeping all sorts of packaging, thinking I'll incorporate it into my projects somehow. Thanks for pushing me to actually use the things I've hoarded!

Using the packaging was stellar! I made PL cards out of the kit box - that gray stripe is fab!

I have been eyeing this packaging paper & wondering how to use it - and somehow hide the faces that are on it! Hehehe. =)
