Weekly Challenge | Going Geometric with Evelyn

Tags:

This week, our member Evelyn (username EvelynLaFleur), is challenging you to use a geometric shapes throughout your project to create a unique look. We love our talented members! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to follow Evelyn here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her!

Hi everyone, my name is Evelyn Wolff - I am a scrapbooker and Instagram addict based in Germany. I have been scrapbooking for nearly 2 years now - I love trying out new techniques and ways of decorating my layouts, as you can see on my page "hello".

I started by cutting a few patterned papers into small rectangles. Embellishing a page with rectangles is not only a great way to use scraps, but you can also add many of your favorite papers on one page! I cut the geometric shapes by hand as I really like the look. To avoid a static look, I added stitches on some of the rectangles. This also creates some more dimension. For my layout I used the beautiful Walden Kit.

And here is my challenge for you: Use handcut geometric shapes on your page - whether it is in the background or as an embellishment. Have fun - I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful creations.

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Evelyn's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by March 9th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the March 16th Layout of the Week post.
