Contributor Center Stage - Loredana Bucaria

This June, we're excited to dedicate the Contributor Center Stage to Creative Team Contributor Loredana Bucaria! Lory is an active part of the Studio Calico community, creating lovely layered layouts and pocket page spreads full of life and color. Be sure to check out her projects in the Gallery this month! Here's your chance to learn a little more about Lory - scrapbooking history, craftroom organization, and more! We're so thankful for the talented team that helps to spread the joy of memory-keeping all over the world.

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Hey there! I am Lory, a Romantic, cheerful Italian girl who has lots of dreams! Being in the Studio Calico family is one of them, and I'm so happy it came true! I love to read a lot of fantasy books (Harry Potter and Twilight super-fan here) and romance novels. I adore to travel around the world to meet new friends and different cultures.

I love scrapbooking - it's my life! I'm obsessed with jeans and bags, and I'm a yellow lover currently. I love to try new cooking recipes, especially cupcakes recipes. Crazy for my hubby, love him so so much. I became a mum in February and it’s really one of the most full experience of my life. Currently my days are filled with feedings, diaper changes, Pupù, Pappa and Pipì but I love to see how Andrea is growing up day by day! We are a family now and this is really exciting!

I love to crafting, and Project Life® and mini albums are what I adore to create most! I love writing, and If I don't stop myself I'll keep going on and on and on .... It's nice to meet you! ;)

How long have you been scrapbooking? I discovered scrapbooking in 2003 during a trip in a funfair park, and it was love at first sight! I was in love with those paper dolls, the famous paperkins and I bought my first book about scrapbooking. From there, I searched online to understand what scrapbooking was, and a wonderful world opened to me! Scrapbooking was meant for me; it has helped me to face bad moments, and it has allowed me to express my colorful side and to meet many adorable friends all over the world.

What's your go-to technique? My go- to technique is this: the picture - the story behind it - the page so colors, papers, embellishments, stamps. I start from the picture and I try to tell more about it using the perfect color combo for it using my stuff. I use to do this for layouts and for my Project Life® album. Everything depends on what I want to tell and how I want to tell the story. I love simple but full of tiny details layouts and PL spreads. I love to think how I want to tell the story and I daydream about how I would like to create the page.

How do you stay organized? Mmmmm this is a very hard question because I would like to have more order in my craft room. I hate to have the crafty table full of many things; I love to have it clean and neat even if many times is very difficult.

I use to have my things organized in this way: chest of drawers and baskets full of stamps and inks, embellishments in jars or boxes, Project Life® stuff in many plastic cases. I love Ikea cases, baskets and boxes, everything in my scrap room is from Ikea. I have two expedit units - a bigger one where are all my mini albums, stamps, kits, embellishments and metal dies and another one smaller where I have all my papers, patterned and yardstick papers.

Usually I store my embellishments in Ikea Iron baskets. I love to stay organized, one of the reason why I am a planner addict!

What is the crafting tool you can’t live without? The craft tool I can’t live without are my stamps for sure! I can’t consider a work completed if I have not used some stamps and embellishments.

The tool I love to use is my Cameo, and lately I adore sketch pens. Playing with them to create wonderful backgrounds is super fun.

With my sewing machine I love to add some little touches in my pages, corners, stitched embellishments and Project Life® spreads. At last but not the least my Big Shot; I have a full collection of dies to play with. I love to mix and match things using these three tools.

Where do you go to get ideas? When I don’t have many ideas about how to start a work I try to find inspiration from Pinterest, magazine and books, online magazine and of course the Studio Calico gallery; that is always a big source of inspiration.

Che bel post, Lory! Io ho scoperto il mondo dello scrapbooking solo lo scorso dicembre, ma ne sono già innamorata. Mi piacerebbe da matti avere una 'craft room' tutta per me! :)
