Watercolor Birthday Card + Envelope | Agnieszka Malyszek

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a detailed step-by-step tutorial about how to create a quick and easy watercolor birthday card and a matching envelope. Although I am definitely a CAS style person, painting with watercolors and messy ink splatters is something that I will always love. You can never go wrong with them!

I started my card by running a piece of white cardstock through my die cut machine using nested star dies. For my project I’m going to use both negative and positive die cuts.
Next, I trimmed the die cut paper to fit the card front and used watercolors to paint all die cut elements.

My next step was to choose a patterned paper to use under the die cut panel. I went for the 6x6 Grid Pattern Pad, trimmed paper to fit my card and made some black ink splatters to add a little more interest to the background.
While all my elements were drying up I started to create my sentiment. I stamped it in black onto another piece of white cardstock and die cut using circle die.
I adhered all of the pieces together to the card base. You can notice that I cut the front panel just a little smaller then my card, leaving a bit of the patterned paper showing on the left side.
I added a white thread under my sentiment panel, which I popped up with foam dots before mounting to the card.

To finish my card off, I just added some lovely pink sequins that are included in the Carolina Moon Card kit.
My final step was to decorate the envelope. I simply attached the die cut and colored stars and trimmed them to fit the envelope. I absolutely love how all those colors come together so nicely!

That’s it! My card and matching envelope are ready to mail or hand out to someone special!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial! Thanks for stopping by today!
