Weekly Challenge | Mixing Old and New Supplies
This week, our member Megan (username Megan Liane), is challenging you to dig through your stash and mix those old supplies with your new kits!! Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure visit Megan to see more of her work and keep up with her!
Hi All - My layout for this challenge is of my youngest son, Max, hugging on his little cousin, Ruthie. She had just hurt her lip and he wanted to make her feel better! On this layout, I mixed items from the Lisse Street Scrapbook Kit and Project Life® kit . I loved using those large letters from the Lisse Street Scrapbook kit to emphasize "HUG" in the title and using the smaller letter stickers from the Lisse Street Project life kit for the rest of the title. I also dug into my older supplies and added a sticker from an older Dear Lizzy line and used a die that I have had for about a year to cut out the wonky hearts. I know we all have older items we would like to use, so my challenge for you is to mix old with new - get out a new kit or collection and mix in one or two items that are 6 months or older from your stash. I look forward to seeing what you create!
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Megan's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by May 4th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the May 16th Layout of the Week post.
I mixed pieces from the old Blue Note kit with newer kits from 2014 and 2015: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/163367-love-believe-in-the-magic

I mixed newer kits like Lisse Street with Walden which is 6 months old. I also used a very old scrap from MME to crate the tab in the top left. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/163368-this-adventure

Great challenge! I used Carolina Moon and some old stash. It was like a walk down memory lane looking through my scrap bin. :) This page is for my 2014 thankful mini.
