Weekly Challenge | Ombre Effect

This week, our member Iole (username seleapi), is challenging you to pull out your paints and get creative! Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure visit Iole to see more of her work and keep up with her.

I’ve been a Studio Calico subscriber and a project lifer for 3 years right now and love getting inspired by its wonderful kit and changing colours and mood each month. Here you can see my extra page showing a short trip I took to Milan to visit my family and lovely niece (who likes to play with my sunglasses, LOL!). I loved the MAY 2015 chipboard but had really no idea about how to incorporate it into my PL untill I experimented SC acrylic paint I never used before. I'm not a painter at all, so I was afraid to mess it up, but then I came out with this lovely ombre painting mixing only two colours.

So my challenge for you today is try getting some ombre painting in your layouts: you can use acrylic, neocolors, watercolours, chalks, inks.. literally anything you like! Also you can paint large backgrounds, small pieces or just one or two tiny element, incorporating them in a standard layout, a card or a PL spread.
I can't wait to see where your fantasy can drive you to!

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Iole's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by July 19th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the July 25th Layout of the Week post.
