Weekly Challenge | Mixing Techniques
Tags:
Hi all! I’m honored to be with you this week coming up with a weekly challenge! This layout, “Pisa Collage”, is from my recent trip to Italy with my partner, which was a short and extremely busy trip! We had mere hours in Pisa to climb the Leaning Tower and explore the city, and I think this layout captures that feeling of busy-ness and of all the fun we had. This layout is created in the 6x8” page protectors from Studio Calico and features 2” squares of paper and photos. The layout mixes a few different techniques and types of embellishments, I love experimenting and playing around like this and I hope you do too!
My challenge for you this week is to use at least two different techniques on your layout (here I used stamping on photos and splitting photos into multiple pockets) and 2 or more types of embellishments (stickers, chipboard, stamping, brads, etc.) – all on the same layout! Whether you’re using 6x8 or 12x12 layouts, I hope this inspires you to get creating (and collaging!) and I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

For this challenge I created a two page spread that splits a 12x12 sheet, die cut large letters backed by photos and used various stamping techniques to coordinate with the photos.

The two techniques I used were stamping (one stamp on a photo, which I never do) and hand-stitching. I used lots of embellishment types: washi, puffy stickers, die-cuts, and rub-ons. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/172221-the-beginning-the-end

For my PL spread, I painted the trees with inks and stamped the week. I used stickers, a fabric sticker and a tag on the right hand corner. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/172250-pl-2015-week-23-3-3 Thanks ! That was a funny challenge ! :)

This is a hybrid page (digital brushes printed on cardstock and on the photo) and I also stamped on my photo:
