Weekly Challenge | Ojyma

This week, our member Amy Jo (Ojyma), wants you to create a project using one main color, plus neutralsAmy Jo

Hello everyone! I'm Amy Jo from Edmonton, AB and I'm excited to share this week's challenge with you. I tore open my Lollipop Guild kits when they arrived and I fell in love with all the blue paper right away! I knew I wanted to keep the layout simple so I printed my photo in black and white to reduce the color (my son's jacket is bright red). I love to layer patterned paper together rather than add a bunch of embellishments so I quickly cut into those lovely 12x12 papers and created a base for my photo. I used the black word sticker and the white & gold alpha to create my title and put the journalling off to the side.

My challenge to you is to try and use one color (plus neutrals like white, cream, black, silver & gold) to create your next layout. I used several shades and patterns of blue and offset it against the black and white, I think winter & holidays are a great time to try telling a story with one color. A red or green color scheme could pair well with Christmas photos, but try peeking outside the box and using a range of pinks or blues or turquoise to tell your story. Bonus challenge to those with snow, head outside for some fun!! I'm so excited to see what everyone makes!

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Amy Jo's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the Studio Calico gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by December 28th to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the January 2nd Layout of the Week post.
