Weekly Challenge | cmsplitt

This week, our member Cassandra (cmsplitt), wants you to use five different types of embellishments in your planner (or list!). Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to visit cmsplitt to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Happy Monday to you all from snowy Nebraska! I'm so pumped to be bringing you the challenge this week on the blog! Now, I know you all saw the picture and thought, "Oh. No. She. Didn't." YES, I did. :) It's a planner challenge! "But Cassandra, I don't USE a planner..." Sad as that makes the planner nerd in me, I do have lots of other options for you: A to-do list, a grocery list, a meal plan, a desk/wall calendar, a journal, whatever tool you like to use to stay organized that involves some paper! The challenge is to simply embellish your organizational tool to make it more fun, more functional, and more enjoyable to use. So bust out those roller stamps, stickers, sticky-notes, washi strips, highlighters, and fancy clips and let's give the more mundane elements of our day a little more pizzazz! Bonus points for those of you that use at least FIVE different types of embellishments. In the spread shown above I used rub ons, transparencies, clips, sticky notes, stickers, highlighters, and washi! I can't wait to see the fun ways you find to plan out your day, thanks for playing along!

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Barbra's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the Studio Calico gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by February 15th to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the February 20th Layout of the Week post.

This was definitely a challenge for me because I don't keep a scrappy planner or journal. But I decided to add a "To Read" page at the end of my "100 books" mini album from 2015 - which isn't finished yet. Usually I just keep my "to read" list in my head or on my phone, so this was a good idea to get it on paper. I added alphas, washi, a PL card, little sticky tabs, stitching, enamel dots, and chipboard! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/183824-100-books-mini-album-to-read-2016

In my planner layout this week I'm using mint & gold washi, stickers, die cuts, handmade clips, a mini dashboard made from a 4x6 Project Life kit, and the sticky notes from the Studio Calico Savannah Planner kit. ♡
