Sunday Sketch | Lisa Spangler

This week, our Scrapbook sketch features strips of paper, our Documenter sketch uses three cards and our Card sketch features cute die-cut eggs. Get creative and be sure to share your projects here with us! We can't wait to see what you create! Today, Lisa Spangler shares her take on the Scrapbook sketch.

This week, our Scrapbook layout comes from Hoppy Easter by Kelly Noel:

Dreaming of Easter by Carson Riutta:

Hi there and Happy Easter! Hope the bunny brought you something good! :)

I can't tell ya how much I love Sunday Sketches -- they always give me that spark. Today, I used Kelly's scrapbook sketch to make a card but with a little twist -- I turned the sketch on it's side. I just couldn't resist all those strips of paper! Such a great way to use up every last bit of your pad.

My card is pretty straightforward so I'll just go over the tricker bits. The first one is that I layered some vellum over that black paper to soften it. Love doing that.

The second little trick is that I cut out the Happy Easter twice -- first from gold glitter paper and then again out of black foam from the craft store. Then I adhered them together using Tombow liquid mono adhesive. The foam really makes the die cuts pop! And the liquid mono adhesive is great too. Put it on, then let it dry for 30 seconds or so and it'll get tacky like a sticky note, plus the glue won't squish out the sides. Bonus!

One last trick: I used stitches where Kelly had mini staples on her card. I thought it went with the whole soft and spring theme.

Thanks so much for joining me! Can't wait to see what you all make with the sketches. xoxo, Lisa
