Member Challenge | rachelanderson
This week, our member Rachel (rachelanderson), wants you to use embellishments in an unexpected way. Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to visit Rachel to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Hi everyone, i'm excited to be here for this week's challenge! I had this layout idea in my head as soon as i saw these cute animal shapes in the Homespun scrapbook kit. I decided to use the little cow as a replacement for the letter O in my title. I like my pages to be clean but a little quirky and fun, and the cow was just the right amount of quirk for me this time.
My challenge for you is to use embellishments or alphas in an unexpected way- use alphas to make a background pattern, use an embellishment to replace a letter(s) in your title, etc. Flair, hearts, and stars all work really well in titles (and of course animals do too, haha). Do something a little weird and fun this week!

I used a chipboard embellishment in place of a letter on my title, but I also created a "scene" with some embellishments to tell more of the story. I explain it more in the layout description.

I managed to use the Barn stamp set one more time in this layout documenting our newest grandchild, where I used a chick as the letter 'I' in my title.

I just love the wood veneer hand-drawn stars! And they also substitute for a letter "A": http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/186963-hooray-with-stars
