Stretch Your Products with Karen Baker

Hi, everyone! First off, can I just say what a pleasure it has been creating with this months Documenter kit? I subscribe to both the Scrapbook and Documenter kits monthly, and Studio Calico never disappoints! I'm always in awe of the products and how well they go together. It's such fun!

I'm here today with a few tips for stretching your kits using left over 3"x4" or 4"x6" cards. It's great to use up your scraps. Otherwise, they have a tendency to grow, and then all of a sudden your life has been taken over by mountains of scrapbooking products (or is that just me? Ha!). You can see that I used a circle punch on this layout, cutting out a few coordinating pieces of 3"x4" and 4"x6" cards.

I then used my circle punch again to cut out my photo to add to the layout. Experiment! Try new things!

Next up - use your washi tape to change a card. Here I used it to cover the printed edge of a 3"x4" card that I wasn't totally in love with. Use up that washi tape! It's so simple.

Finally, add a few splatters of paint. Not only does it look great, but you'll have fun doing it. Sometimes, I add stitching to my layouts, too. But just remember that less is more.

Have fun!
Karen

I must say your paint splatters are perfect! What did you use to create such a light splatter? :) @HelloTodayCreate

@Nicole3 aw thank you! I use a zig water brush and simply flick it with my finger! So you are getting quite messy but it's worth it! Maybe I'll try to do a video of it in action! Keep an eye out on Instagram! Same username as here!
