Using the Lost River Scrapbook Kit with Ginny Hughes

Tags:

Hi, guys! I am super happy to be here on the Studio Calico blog today, sharing a layout I created using the September Lost River scrapbook kits. I used the main kit and the Fountain Square add-on kit, and I also used the Nick alphabet stamp set. I think alphabet stamps are one of my favorite paper crafting supplies - they are so versatile and especially helpful when you want to make a long title on your layout. Never running out of the alpha that you need = a happy crafter :)

Stamping directly on your background paper can be fun, but it can also be frustrating because if you mess up, there isn't much you can do to fix it. I like to stamp on a coordinating patterned paper and then cut out the letters. Some stamp sets lend themselves better to this technique than others. The Nick set is great for this, but if you weren't able to snag it before it sold out, I bet you have something in your stash that will work just as well.

I used the gold chipboard letters from the main kit to highlight the word "magic" in my title because I thought it would be a fun way to make the word pop. I kept the embellishments very minimal, adding just a few arrow stickers. I wanted the photo to shine, and I think it does!

I hope you pull out your alpha stamps and get them inky. Please show us what you create by posting in the member gallery!
