Using the Sonnet Scrapbook kit with Lisa Truesdell

When I first sit down with a kit, I like to pull everything out and think about how I want to use it. I'm not one to pre-plan pages, but the process of sorting through it all usually sparks an idea or two that I'd like to try! With the Sonnet Scrapbook kit, as soon as I had my hands on the stamp set, I knew I wanted to feature it on my page. Tags are one of my favorite supplies - I love how versatile they are - so I was thrilled to have one in stamp form that I could use again and again!

My first inclination was to stamp the tags on patterned paper and cut them out. And yes, I have to admit that I thought of that because I was scared to stamp on the background of a page - what would I do if I messed up or hated how it looked?! However, once I had a little collection of patterned paper tags and started arranging them on the background, I realized it was going to be way too busy. I set them aside, took a deeeeeeeeeeeep breath, and began stamping on the background. And guess what? It turned out okay. ;)

To mix things up a bit, I double stamped a few of the tags so they're lighter. To add color to the page, I handcut small bits of patterned paper and stitched them inside the stamped tags. The finished look is a playful background that would work well no matter the topic you're scrapping!
