Documenter Kit Workshop - Beshka Kueser

Beshka is a wife, a momma, and a maker. A native Texan, she currently resides in Germany where she has lived for the last three years with her husband of 15 years, and two teens – Riley and Logan. She loves game nights, ice cream, cross-eyed cats, documenting, photography, making, and – when everyone's schedule is clear – scratching that wanderlust itch and traveling across Europe with her family.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I love the colors this month, especially the journaling cards with bits of pink paired with orange. I like orange, but I don't use it much, so I am happy to have that little nudge from the kit to get more of that color onto my pages. I am also digging the stamp set  the little arrows and words are perfection, and I am really looking forward to using them.

What she'll be teaching:

In this month's workshop, I will share three spreads using the Confidant Main Documenter Kit. I will also mix it up along the way, adding to the Main kit a class printable and add-ons in two of the lessons. I will share a few tips and tricks that I use on my own pages as I create a spread with a large photo, a busy double-page spread, and a themed spread.

Takeaways:

These kits are so versatile and easy to customize  even when we're unsure about a specific element, we can alter it to something we are sure about and want to use.

Planner Kit Workshop - Ashley Newell

In 2008, Ashley started blogging her crafting experiences. Through the years, her projects have been published in magazines and featured on blogs. She has been on many design teams, including Studio Calico. Ashley currently designs projects for Papertrey Ink's monthly releases and for their Moments Inked Memory Planner System. When she’s not in her paper suite, she is spending time with her family, trying a new recipe, or surfing the Internet. She’s been married to her college sweetheart for 11 years, and is a new mom to a busy two-year-old.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

Patterned paper is a must for my planner, and the Confidant Planner Kit includes some beautiful patterns. I like to cut strips of patterned paper and add them for pops of color and design aesthetics. The binder clips are a simple accessory, but they’re so functional when you need to bookmark a section, and this girl has a passion for gold accents!

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we will focus on how to use alpha stickers in your planners. The second lesson will feature tips on how to get more mileage from the planner stickers. In the third lesson, I’ll share how to use stamps to bring a plain planner spread to life.

Takeaways:

No two planners are alike, not even my own. The main thing I want you to take away is that you can use scissors with stickers. You can create your own simple shapes to fit any planner perfectly.

Scrapbook Kit Workshop - Nancy Damiano

Nancy is a married mom to one boy and favorite aunt to a little troop of nieces and nephews. They are a huge part of her life and scrapbooks. She loves a good design and even better story. She has a passion for the color aqua, Disney World and anything paper + craft. She's been working with color and creating handmade things most of her life, and has worked with many different scrapbooking manufacturers, magazines and online retailers over the past 10 years. She's currently working for Studio Calico, American Crafts and Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

My favorite items in this month's kit definitely have to be the transparent titles, those gorgeous golden alpha stickers and the fun white veneer stars! They're all such great items to work with.

What she'll be teaching:

Lesson one will cover designing with intricate backgrounds with dimension. My second lesson will discuss utilizing leftover bits and pieces from your kit to create a stunning page. In my final lesson, we'll look at turning stamped images into embellishments!

Takeaways:

Taking a step out of your design comfort zone can lead to some pretty amazing layouts, and trying new techniques is a good creative stretch. I can't wait to share some of my favorite tips and tricks!
