Sunday Sketch | Jamie Waters

This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 12" x 12" layout using a large photo, typed journaling, and scattered embellishments. Our card sketch uses patterned paper and stamping inside to share a birthday sentiment, and our pocket page sketch features an embellished 3" x 4" filler card and a 2" x 3" photo paired with journaling underneath in its neighboring pocket. Creative Team member Jamie Waters is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's pocket sketch! Be sure to follow Jamie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Kelly Noel's  Don't Count the Days layout:

Our card sketch comes from Lisa Spangler's Happy Birthday card:

And our pocket page sketch comes from Kelly Noel's  April 2016 spread:

And here's Jamie's take on our scrapbook sketch:

Hi there! I love how Kelly used the strips of papers and washi as her page's background. I didn't use washi, but I did use the assortment of patterned papers. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and used a smaller size, 8.5" x 11" instead of 12" x 12".

I also added the tag for my journaling, and liked how it sort of popped out of the photo on top. Sydney is a super fun alphabet stamp, and I used it for my title (which is the name of our local museum). I stamped on patterned paper and messy cut each letter out.

SUPPLIES: Kits - "Confidant" Scrapbook Kit; Stamp - 6x8 Sydney Alpha; Ink - Studio Calico Color Theory Premium Dye Ink (Inky Black)

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the  Studio Calico gallery. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the February 18th Layout of the Week post.

Hey SC.... I love your Sunday Sketches! Any chance you can include a link for a PDF download each week so I can print them and store them with my other SC sketches? I have taken three sketch classes you have offered and I would love to include these sketches with my others. Thanks for considering it!
