Using The Birds and the Bees Scrapbook Kit with Jen Chapin

Tags:

The March Scrapbook Kit is perfect for documenting spring photos. The colors and icons just lend itself so well to it! I wanted to scrapbook this photo of my two kids riding their bikes. I printed this photo out awhile back and had it waiting for the perfect moment to scrapbook.

I started out with a base of white cardstock, then used a star punch on some strips of white as well. I adhered these to the layout, then punched patterned paper from the kit and used these in some of the negative spaces.

I then used my sewing machine to stitch through the strips. I keep a stash of plain white tissue paper in my scrapbook stash, and that's what I used to layer behind the photo. This adds a bit of texture without competing with the soft colors in the kit. I also included a few stamps, one from the main kit and one from the add-on.

This background was super easy and fun to create, so I hope you'll try it sometime! You can use any shape punch you'd like. Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and have a great one!
