Using the Birds and the Bees Scrapbook kit with Lisa Truesdell

Tags:

Hey all! Who's ready for spring?! I know I am - and the colors in The Birds and The Bees definitely have me thinking about sunny days and green leaves. Since we're still fighting dreary weather here in the midwest, I dug into photos from our spring break trip last year for this page. Ah, sunshine & pool days.... my favorite!

This photo (and the fact that the kids spent about two hours just floating in the lazy river!) immediately brought these lyrics from the Modest Mouse song "Float On" to mind - and I knew I wanted to go big with the title. The only problem.. it's reeeeeeeeeeeeeally long. And has SO many Ls in it! I loved the alphabet in the scrapbook kit, so I knew I had to make it work. I simply traced the letters I needed onto patterned paper, and then cut them out. This is one of my favorite ways to stretch the alphabets in my kit. It's super simple, and I love the mixed up look it brings to my pages.

With such a big and bold title, I wanted to keep the rest of the page fairly simple. A few embellishments gathered by the photo, a scattering of vellum stars, and some typed journaling finished things off.

I'd love to see how you stretch your alphas - if you give this a try, link me up in the comments!
