April's featured teachers

Documenter Kit Workshop - Juli Maniago

Juli is a twenty-something nurse from New Jersey who spends much of her free time scrapbooking and binge watching TV. She has been scrapbooking for about five years now, focusing primarily on pocket pages and smaller format projects. Growing up, she was always the one taking pictures of her friends and family so memory keeping was a very natural hobby for her.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I think my favorite things about this month’s kits are the color scheme and the abundance of star embellishments. For anyone who follows me on YouTube or social media, you know I’m a big fan of all things star related.

What she'll be teaching:

In the first spread, I’ll talk about adding embellishments on the outside of your pockets to give your project more layers and texture. In the second spread, we’ll be tackling how to use black and white photos in your pages. Finally, the third spread will prompt you to use lists as a way to tell the story.

Takeaways:

I hope subscribers will be able to see that documenting doesn’t have to be a big production. I hope to show you all that there are easy ways to make things work for you so that you’ll be able to get your stories down in your albums.

Planner Kit Workshop - Cara Vincens

Cara is a Canadian living in Luxembourg with her children and her tall, dark and hot hubby. He’s French and the reason she moved to Europe in the first place. As far as crafting goes, she does a lot of paper crafts but sabsolutely loves planning and scrapbooking. It’s her "me time" and she loses all track of time when she's playing with paper and stickers! She loves to teach, and you can find her at Big Picture Classes, Get it Scrapped, and on her own website, thehootingpirate.com.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I love the dreamy feel of the kit this month. I love to encourage women to dream big and then plan it out, so this is right up my alley. The colors of the fabulous rainbow stars are soft and dreamy (pun intended), and they are so versatile. I plan to use up every last one of these babies. The "Dream on You Crazy Dreamer" stickers are awesome with that pretty script and those dreamy colors.

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, you’ll get some tips on creating a rainbow on your planner pages. So fitting for April showers, don’t you think? In the second one, you’ll learn to think outside the box when it comes to printables, and consider changing things to suit your needs. In the last lesson, you’ll have some fun with bullet journalling.

Takeaways:

Decorative planning is a fun, creative outlet. There’s something about a pretty page greeting you as you open your planner each day that motivates and lifts your spirits. You’ll be so energized to cross everything off, be productive and stay organized. So, if you are able to use color, clusters, or any other technique that jazzes you up, you’ll not only have fun getting creative in your planner, but you will get the added bonus of motivating yourself to stay organized as well!

Scrapbook Kit Workshop - Janna Werner

Janna Werner a 38-year old mixed media creative and online teacher based in Northern Germany. She's been scrapbooking since 2011, has been a member of different design teams, and has taught many online classes and workshops throughout Europe. She has always been a big fan of stationery and paper, and became hooked on scrapbooking quickly. She creates traditional layouts as well as other artsy projects, such as paper flowers, gift wrappings, drawings, and mixed media canvases. She calls herself a mixed media creative, as she loves to mix materials and techniques.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

My top three favorite things of the Written In The Stars Main Scrapbook Kit are the color scheme, the funky patterns and the stickers – they are perfect for creating happy and colorful pages. The kit is super versatile - if you like color, you will love the vibrant papers, and if you prefer neutrals or decent patterns, there is also something in it for you!

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we will focus on a simple technique to create a calm and clean page. It is a technique that allows you to enjoy the art of crafting, instead of overthinking the design process. Lesson two is about scrapbooking with a monochrome photo and the advantages it brings. In the final lesson, I share an alternative way of including journaling text on your page.

Takeaways:

In this workshop, you will learn easy ways to create great effects without getting lost in the crafting process. The layouts are easy to recreate and do not take more than 30 minutes from start to finish, unless you want it to. :)
